2025 Chevy Tahoe Powertrain and Handling

For the 2025 model year, the Tahoe is offering a selection of three different engine options! There are two V8s, and even a diesel option. First things first, we have a 5.3-liter V8 rated at 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. This engine is standard on the LS, LT, RST, Z71 and Premier trims. There's also an available 6.2-liter V8 rated at 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. This engine comes standard on the High Country, but is an available option for the RST, Z71, and Premier models. Both of these V8 engines pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Last but not least, the available 3.0-liter inline-six diesel engine produces up to 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque!

With so many trim levels in the lineup, the 2025 Chevy Tahoe has lots of different features to explore! If you're looking for peak off-road performance, then you need to check out the Z71 trim, which comes equipped with some extra features to help you conquer the more rugged terrain of your favorite off-road trail. For example, the Z71 features 20-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, and underbody skid plates for extra protection. It also has a standard two-speed transfer case, offering four-wheel drive for added traction. You can also opt for an available air suspension system to raise or lower your ride height. 

In addition to the Z71, the Tahoe offers many other performance features to help you navigate your daily routine. For example, the available suspension system we mentioned above can also be had on the RST and High Country trims. When it comes to towing ability, the 2025 Chevy Tahoe can tow an incredible 8,400 pounds when properly equipped with the 5.3-liter V8. Meanwhile, the other V8 and the diesel engine both offer a maximum towing capacity of up to 8,200 pounds. This means you're free to carry your trailer or any other gear you might need with utmost confidence, taking your next road trip or off-road adventure to the next level!
